JQuery Experiment

I challenged myself to recreate, using CSS and JQuery, a site that I had previously built years ago in Flash using AS3. The result is not quite as perfect as I had hoped, but not bad. JQuery has a tough time doing smooth slower animations, and I haven't quite been able to figure out how to start in the center, but have each list item move both all the way left and right. The effect is there though.

Subliminal Type

A self initiated project to clean up, refine and re-explore a typeface I started years ago as part of my degree project in school. The goal being a typeface which can function in the background on a subliminal level. The negative space of the shapes creates the characters, but even more interesting is that when tilted and overlapped, they form patterns with interwoven messages.

The Handmade Sketchbook

Similar to blacksmiths forging their own tools, I enjoy making my own sketchbooks. Recently, I have been experimenting with finding cheap, old, yet interesting books at The Strand and repurposing the covers and endpages. This one that I found is especially nice with metallic inks, embossing and patterns. I sew my own bindings and like to create signatures with uneven page widths so I have obstacles to draw or make notes around. I think it came out quite nicely.
